Luxembourg is an important market for private equity transactions and offers a number of investment vehicles specifically designed for investment into the sector.
It is the main jurisdiction behind specialist structures designed for tax neutrality and includes a range of regulated and unregulated investment vehicles. Regulated private equity vehicles include the Société d’investissement en capital à risque (SICAR) and the updated ‘Specialised Investment Fund’ (SIF) as well the unregulated vehicle, the Société de participations financières (SOPARFI).
